Biosecurity Partnership Programme in East Africa

The purpose of the programme was to contribute to the development of national biosecurity and bio-preparedness systems to reduce the risk and consequences of biological events. Programme results have included: a comprehensive biosecurity gap survey, provision of support to biosecurity legislation, facilitation of biosecurity legislation drafting workshops, training of university students and academic staff in biosecurity, and provision of support to build capacity and coordination in bio-preparedness.
