Capacity Building for National and Regional Foot-and-Mouth-Disease (FMD) Control Strategy

This project supports the Nigerian Veterinary Research Institute (NVRI) to produce foot-and-mouth disease (FMD)-specific reagents and/or diagnostic kits for antigen detection, detection of antibodies to structural and non-structural proteins, reverse transcription polymerase chain reaction and pen-side tests. This collaboration will result in the development of better technical expertise and materials for adequate diagnosis of FMD at NVRI.
