CEN Workshop Agreement (CWA) Laboratory Biorisk Management Standard

This Agreement was developed as a voluntary standard by an international consortium of biosafety and biosecurity experts (including those from Canada) through a CEN Workshop (WS 31) to describe the required components of an effective biorisk management system. It specifies requirements for a biorisk management system that will enable an organization to develop and implement a biorisk policy, establish objectives and processes to achieve the policy commitments, and improve its performance. The overall aim of this Agreement is to support and promote good biorisk practices, including self regulation. This Agreement was created in 2008 and revised in 2011.
