Chemical Security Program (CSP)

This program partners with law enforcement, government, academic, and industrial communities to strengthen their ability to prevent, detect, and mitigate chemical attacks, the proliferation of weaponizable chemicals, and advances in vertical chemical weapons proliferation by great powers and rogue states in violation of the Chemical Weapons Convention (CWC). The program secures and prevents the transfer of chemical weapons-related assets (such as chemicals, equipment, technologies, expertise, and infrastructure) to proliferator states and terrorist networks that may conduct chemical attacks. It also sponsors efforts to identify and address chemical security vulnerabilities, to detect and investigate early warning signs of chemical weapon production and attack planning, and to attribute chemical weapons attacks to their source.
