Chemical Weapon Assistance Provided by the European Union

Assistance includes: 1) combating illicit traffic and enhancing the safety of medicines in Eastern and Central Africa; 2) strengthening chemical and biological waste management in Central Asia for improved security and safety risk mitigation; 3) providing specialized CBRN equipment to train personnel in charge of cross-border control; 4) providing on-site technical support to CBRN Centre of Excellence; 5) managing chemicals and their associated wastes in Southeast Asia; 6) strengthening crime scene forensics capabilities in investigating CBRN incidents in the South East and Eastern Europe region; 7) providing on-site technical assistance; 8) strengthening cross-border capacity for control and detection of CBRN substances; 9) building capacity for medical preparedness and response to CBRN incidents; 10) conducting European Union outreach programme (Export Control Cooperation in South East Asia); and 12) conducting export control outreach for dual-use items.
