Contribution to the United States Department of Energy’s Global Threat Reduction Initiative (GTRI) Program: Highly-Enriched Uranium Minimization Program

The United Kingdom contributed to the United States’ Global Threat Reduction Initiative (GTRI) to support projects in Kazakhstan, Uzbekistan, Belarus, and Ukraine to down-convert research reactors running on highly-enriched uranium to run on low-enriched uranium and to remove any remaining highly-enriched uranium fuel.
