Council Joint Action 2008/314/CFSP on Support for IAEA Activities in the Areas of Nuclear Security and Verification – IAEA IV

This assistance activity aimed to:

  1. Strengthen national legislative and regulatory infrastructures for the implementation of relevant international instruments in the areas of nuclear security and verification, including comprehensive safeguards agreements and the Additional Protocol;
  2. Assist States in strengthening the security and control of nuclear and other radioactive materials; and
  3. Strengthen States’ capabilities for detection and response to illicit trafficking in nuclear and other radioactive materials.
