COVID-19 Pandemic Surveillance Support

Project

COVID-19 Pandemic Surveillance Support

This project was a response to the Covid-19 pandemic and the need for the rapid scaling up DHIS2 packages for disease surveillance, as well as managing vaccine roll-out. DHIS2 is an open-source data software used for health information systems worldwide. The existing use of the system allowed for quick adaptations for increased data needs in response to the pandemic. The program is managed by University of Oslo and implemented through a decentralized network of HISP groups that work closely with ministries of health and global & local development partners. UiO is responsible for the software development/updates, adaptations and offers capacity building in use of DHIS2 for different purposes. The project delivers on two outcomes:

  1. Global goods developed for Covid-19 surveillance and vaccination response
  2. Improved country support for implementation of Covid-19 global goods
