Global Disease Detection (GDD) Programme

The Global Disease Detection program (GDD) strengthens global capacity to rapidly detect, accurately identify, and promptly contain emerging infectious disease and bioterrorist threats that occur internationally. A central focus of GDD is to build a robust network of strategically placed, geographically diverse country offices supporting epidemiology and laboratory science and improved data quality and timeliness to ensure global health security. GDD has historically and continues to respond to high-profile public health events such as Ebola and Zika. GDD Centers are currently located in Bangladesh, China, Egypt, Georgia, Guatemala, Kazakhstan, Kenya, India, South Africa, and Thailand.
