Global Threat Reduction Programme (GTRP) – Sustainable Physical Protection Project in Russia

This project consisted of sustainability support for maintaining physical protection at civil nuclear sites in Russia. Project activities included: 1) a two-week maintenance course to equip maintenance staff at the institute with the skills required to maintain the installed physical protection equipment; 2) a three-day ‘assets management workshop’ to help site security mangers develop an understanding of the issues associated with implementing an effective maintenance regime; and 3) providing an initial inventory of strategic spares and tapered support to sustain that inventory.
