Institutional Capacity Building for Sound Management of Chemicals in Georgia

The STCU will support Government of Georgia efforts to establish and strengthen its legal frameworks and institutional infrastructure for chemicals management, to include reviewing and revising its chemical safety and security regulations to comply with European standards, developing and training stakeholders on a chemical registry/database, and strengthening national chemical safety and security monitoring capabilities. Specifically, the STCU will assist the Georgians in managing project scope, timelines, and costs; meeting project milestones and deliverables; and coordinating between relevant Georgian, U.S., and European Union stakeholders, as appropriate.
