International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) Nuclear Security Fund – Security of Nuclear Materials & Facilities

Funds were directed to the Nuclear Security of Materials and Facilities Section of the International Atomic Energy Agency’s Nuclear Security division to:

  1. Build nuclear security regulatory infrastructure throughout Africa;
  2. Upgrade physical protection of a nuclear facility in Egypt;
  3. Convene 6 workshops on threat assessment for nuclear facilities in Latin America;
  4. Provide training for Latin American states on radiological material management; and
  5. Remove Canadian-origin disused sealed radioactive sources from Lebanon.
