International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) Technical Cooperation Programme

The programme helps Member States to identify and meet future energy needs, and assists in improving radiation safety and nuclear security worldwide. It provides this support through capacity building, knowledge-sharing, partnership-building, support for networking, legislative assistance, and procurement. The International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) fosters the efficient and safe use of nuclear power by supporting existing and new nuclear programmes around the world, catalysing innovation and building capacity in energy planning, analysis, and nuclear information and knowledge management. The IAEA assists countries in all aspects of the nuclear fuel cycle, from uranium mining to spent fuel and radioactive waste management, and fostering technical information exchange between countries. It also supports the broad use of peaceful nuclear technology through research reactors and non-electric applications, as well as the development of fusion.
