International Basic Course on Assistance and Protection

The course will also offer an overview of the kinds of assistance that the Organisation for the Prohibition of Chemical Weapons (OPCW) and Serbia can provide upon the request of a State Party and will facilitate the exchange of information and experiences regarding the implementation of Article X of the Chemical Weapons Convention (CWC). The course will provide training in: 1) planning and establishing a support team for the protection of civilian populations against chemical weapons; 2) conducting emergency operations in contaminated areas; 3) responding to incidents involving chemical warfare agents; 4) using individual protective equipment; 5) using monitoring, detection, and decontamination techniques; and 6) taking samples.
