International Biological Security Programme (IBSP) – Strengthening Biological Security and Safety in Tajikistan Phase I

This project strengthened basic surveillance capabilities to study key viral pathogens responsible for serious endemic diseases in Tajikistan, including Crimean-Congo haemorrhagic fever virus. Modern molecular diagnostic techniques were established in-country, which reduced the requirement for handling highly infectious live viruses in the diagnostic laboratory.
