International CBRN Survive to Function (StF) Course

The Defence Forces of Ireland provide practical CBRN training to ICRC to allow them to recognise the signs & symptoms of a CRBN incident and to safely carry out immediate response drills. The course is a key building block to a successful and sustainable humanitarian response in CBRN contaminated environments.

The Irish Defence Forces through the School of Military Engineering (SME) runs a 5-day training course that focuses on immediate personal response to a CBRN incident. The course also provides an understanding of current CBRN threats.

In June 2022, a week-long training course was delivered in Ireland to staff of the ICRC. This is an annual course which will continue in 2023.
