International Counterproliferation Program (ICP) – Asia

The program enhanced the ability of host-country agencies to prevent and counter the proliferation of weapons of mass destruction (WMD) and related items across international borders. It strove to aid host-country agencies to deter, detect, investigate and interdict crimes regarding WMD and related items, such as chemical, biological, radiological, nuclear agents and dual-use items. The program assisted in the continuing development of a professional cadre of customs, border and law enforcement officials, while also delivering technical assistance via low- and high-tech equipment, training and advice. Ultimately, this program endeavored to establish a long-term, mutually beneficial relationship between host-country agencies and those of the United States Government.
