Kyrgyzstan Customs Intellectual Property Workshop

A three-day workshop on border enforcement of intellectual property rights in the Kyrgyz Republic. The workshop utilized the expertise of the United States Patent and Trademark Office, United States Customs and Border Protection, and the World Customs Organization (WCO), as well as the brand protection officers from a number of private sector companies. The workshop investigated the impact of counterfeiting and piracy in Kyrgyzstan and the region, the role of the private sector in the interdiction of counterfeits, the utility of risk analysis and targeting, and the benefits of interagency and interregional coordination.
