Material Management and Minimization (MMM) Program – Dispose Program

This program downblends highly-enriched uranium with natural uranium to make low enriched uranium, which can be used by the United States National Nuclear Security Administration’s (NNSA) Material Management and Minimization – Convert Program for research reactor fuel or isotope production targets. Resultant low enriched uranium can also support the American Assured Fuel Supply and NNSA’s Defense Program’s tritium production. By making low enriched uranium available for a variety of uses, the Dispose Program closes the material management cycle that began with the NNSA’s Convert and Remove Programs.
