Med Trident Tabletop Exercise (TTX)

MED Trident, co-hosted by the United States, Italy, Morocco in collaboration with UNODC and UNOCT, demonstrated best practices and built confidence related to the detection of radiological/nuclear (R/N) materials out of regulatory control (MORC) at maritime ports, crime scene management, and the coordination of subsequent nuclear forensics investigations. The exercise developed participant understanding of the applicability of international legal frameworks against acts of R/N terrorism, in particular, the International Convention for the Suppression of Acts of Nuclear Terrorism (ICSANT) and encouraged discussions on the limitations and strengths of different international cooperation mechanisms.
