Mitigation of Biological Threats in the ASEAN Region Phase II

This assistance activity seeks to strengthen ASEAN Member States’ capacities to further address critical vulnerabilities and strengthen essential regional capacities to prevent, detect, and respond to a diverse range of biological threats. Specific initiatives focus on:

  1. Strengthening regional response capacity for health-security threats;
  2. Improving biosafety and biosecurity systems and capacities;
  3. Further developing the ASEAN Emergency Operations Centers network;
  4. Enhancing regional capacity in big data analytics and visualization for disease surveillance; and
  5. Strengthening the health-security interface capacity of the ASEAN Secretariat.
