Mobile COVID-19 Diagnostic Laboratories for South Africa
As laboratory capacity in South Africa is limited, Canada is supporting South Africa’s National Institute for Communicable Diseases (NICD) to acquire, equip and certify twenty mobile laboratories for rapid diagnosis of COVID-19 and other infectious diseases. This project builds on long-standing Weapons Threat Reduction Program (WTRP) cooperation with South Africa to strengthen health-security, including through the renovation of facilities at the National Health Laboratory Services that are now supporting COVID-19 efforts.
