Nuclear and Radiological Security: Projects to Decrease the Overall Quantity of Proliferation-Significant Nuclear Materials in Existence

This assistance activity funded 17 projects at four sites in Russia to help prepare the ground for the disposition of 34 tonnes of weapons-grade plutonium. Funding was also given to help design, construct and/or modify facilities storing nuclear materials awaiting the final disposition process.
