The United States Department of Energy develops policy and provides targeted emergency preparedness capacity-building training to counter and respond to nuclear and radiological incidents, accidents, and terror threats through:

  • Multilateral and bilateral policy coordination
  • Support to international organizations
  • International nuclear and radiological response training
  • Strategic partnerships and workshops
  • Multilateral and bilateral scenario-based policy discussions
  • International tabletop exercises
  • Operational support and preparedness training for international major public events
  • Technical support, reach-back, and international emergency assistance
