Organisation for the Prohibition of Chemical Weapons Designated Laboratory Programme

Program

Organisation for the Prohibition of Chemical Weapons Designated Laboratory Programme

This work seeks to address the lack of Designated Laboratories in Africa or South America regions. The Organisation for the Prohibition of Chemical Weapons (OPCW) programme provides essential training and assistance to target counties in order to develop the necessary expertise and capability for facilities to qualify as a Designated Laboratory. United Kingdom financial support through OPCW has enabled proficiency testing reports to be produced for laboratories in Brazil, Mexico, Chile, Kenya and Nigeria. These reports will identify areas of capability and equipment/assets that are needed for laboratories to work towards Designated Laboratory status.
