Organisation for the Prohibition of Chemical Weapons Technical Secretariat – Supporting the Technical Secretariat (TS) in its Aim to Provide Technical Assistance to States Parties to Enable Full Implementation of the Chemical Weapons Convention

Through the Organisation for the Prohibition of Chemical Weapons (OPCW) Technical Secretariat (TS) the United Kingdom (UK) continues to share UK expertise, resources and best practices by mentoring the National Authorities of States Parties that have identified gaps and challenges in implementing the Chemical Weapons Convention (CWC) and have requested assistance. Tailored support on a range of issues is provided according t specific needs and includes national implementing legislation, the functioning of a National Authority, chemical safety and security, declaration requirements, OPCW inspections and CWC licensing and trade controls. The mentorship work has made improvements in these countries and is predominantly an in kind contribution rather than a monetary one.
