Project

Parliamentary Engagement in Africa to Promote Implementation of United Nations Security Council Resolution 1540 (2004) and Universality and Implementation of the Biological and Toxin Weapons Convention (BTWC)

This project supports Parliamentarians for Global Action to engage and expand its network of members of parliament in up to 28 African countries to accelerate progress related to the Biological and Toxin Weapons Convention (BTWC) and United Nations Security Council Resolution (UNSCR 1540). This project focuses on the critical role that Parliamentarians play both as lawmakers and advocates for BTWC and UNSCR 1540-related matters, and engage them through a series of bilateral meetings and workshops to strengthen their capacity to fully implement UNSCR 1540 and BTWC legislative requirements.
