Project 36: Further Development and Consolidation of the Mediterranean Programme for Intervention Epidemiology Training (MediPIET)

This project’s main objectives were to:

  1. Establish a network of epidemiologists and trainers in the field of epidemiology among Public Health institutions of the participating countries to reinforce the prevention and response to health threats;
  2. Train field epidemiologists for the prevention and control of communicable diseases and other risks; and
  3. To promote collaboration, exchange of experiences and knowledge.

Project activities included a fellowship programme, training courses, an Annual Scientific Conference, and establishment of a network of Junior and Senior epidemiologists, training sites, and training centre forums.
