Project Crimp (Chemical Risk Identification and Mitigation Project) – Iraq

To identify, reduce and mitigate the risk posed by weaponizable chemicals and their precursors, this project offered a training course on producing a risk matrix of chemicals of specific concern from Iraq. The course also identified areas of good practice, duplication of effort and potential vulnerabilities, and started to develop a multi-agency team to oversee future activity. The second part of the course continued building the working group to implement chemical security countermeasures and began implementation. A key activity under this project was public awareness raising on chemical security. This project allowed delegates to review their chemical security capabilities.
