Science and Technology II

This project expanded the Organisation for the Prohibition of Chemical Weapons’ (OPCW) network of scientific expertise to enhance ongoing science and technology monitoring efforts and increase presence and visibility of the Chemical Weapons Convention (CWC) in the scientific community. Project activities included: creating a working group of scientists to source, collate, and analyse data with unique chemical signatures; a series of expert workshops to assess the impact of current and potential future developments in science and technology and the implementation of the CWC; and a series of workshops for regional centres of excellence and universities to understand the process by which technologies are conceived, developed, adapted, and brought to life.
