Strengthening African Capabilities to Prevent and Respond to Infectious Disease Outbreaks

Project

Strengthening African Capabilities to Prevent and Respond to Infectious Disease Outbreaks

This project aims to build capacity in up to seven countries in Central and West Africa (i.e. Cameroon, DRC, Gabon, Guinea-Bissau, Ivory Coast, Mauritania and Senegal) through the implementation of a data-driven training program on the surveillance and control of emerging infectious diseases (including viral hemorrhagic fevers). This project supports research as well as the provision of equipment and training to relevant personnel, leading to a more integrated network of collaborating laboratories across the region to perform surveillance and diagnostics of infectious disease threats in a safe and secure manner.
