Support for Biological and Toxin Weapons Convention (BWC) Universalisation I

This project promoted universal adherence to the Biological and Toxin Weapons Convention (BWC) by encouraging States not party to the BWC better to understand the benefits of joining the BWC and getting more involved in BWC meetings and other activities. A number of in-country universalisation activities were conducted at the request of States not party to the BWC, particularly those which are close to BWC membership. Focus areas for the activities included provision of specific informational materials on the benefits of joining the BWC, awareness raising among national stakeholders, including parliamentarians and other political decision makers, the establishment of national coordination, and sponsorship for key individuals to attend BWC meetings or other relevant events.
