T2199 – Improving Capabilities to Detect and Characterise Brucella in the Veterinary and Public Health Sectors

This project developed molecular diagnostic capabilities. It focused on building links with Western scientist and international reference laboratories, and to embed internationally-accepted diagnostic approaches and to report with transparency. This project also raised both public and official awareness of the significance of brucellosis in Tajikistan. The project provided tools and training to ensure molecular diagnostic techniques met internationally-recognised standards. This project created a joined-up surveillance network of veterinary and human health surveillance activities.
