Tajikistan Green Border Security Initiative (Afghanistan Border)

This project seeks to increase the capacity of Tajikistan to detect and deter the smuggling of nuclear or radiological materials. Specifically, it will support Tajikistan’s Border Guard Service, the State Committee for National Security, and the Customs Service with securing the eastern portion of the Tajik-Afghan border. Project activities include:

  1. Providing radiation detection equipment;
  2. Integrating surveillance systems at bridge border crossings and along the frontier border; and
  3. Providing related operational equipment and maintenance training.
