Trust Fund for Global and Regional Disarmament Activities

Japan contributed approximately US$1,000,000 to the United Nations Office for Disarmament Affairs for the implementation of UNSCR 1540 in March 2017. In 2022, this assistance has been utilized for the following activities:

  1. Leading to the appointment of Ms. Amanda Cowl as the first 1540 Regional Coordinator for Asia since February
    2022.
  2. Holding workshop for the ASEAN Member States in Thailand in September, Awareness-Raising Seminar in Cambodia in November as well as for Mongolia in December in order to further promote UNSCR 1540 implementation.
