UNODC-WCO Container Control Programme (CCP) – South Eastern Europe

This project created port control units (PCUs) in Albania (Port of Durres); Montenegro (Port of Bar); and Bosnia and Herzegovina (Bijaca). Law enforcement personnel received training and equipment to systematically target high-risk containers whilst facilitating the free flow of legitimate trade. The PCUs are equipped to exchange information with counterparts in other countries using a secure global communication application. The main goal of this project goal was to improve the security in the international container supply chain by effectively countering the use of containers for the transport of illicit goods.
