Western Asian Network for the Improvement of Biosafety in the Caucasus Region

The objective of the project is to expand the German-Georgian network established during the first two project phases (2013-2019). The aim of this network is to:

  • Raise awareness in biosecurity and biosafety;
  • Establish modern laboratory methods for the diagnostics and detection of highly pathogenic agents; and
  • Train Georgian health service personnel in modern serological and molecular biological laboratory technologies and methods of field epidemiology efficiently and in accordance with international standards.
