WHO Biological Threat Reduction Programming
Canada supported the World Health Organization to address multiple high-priority, high-value biological threat reduction activities, including: 1) strengthening global biological security and biological safety; 2) improving collaboration at the “animal-human interface” that ensured more effective and rapid response to zoonotic disease threats; and 3) enhancing global early warning and risk monitoring capacities that detected, assessed, and informed about global biological threats.
