Nuclear Weapons Transportation Security (NWT) Project

The goal of this project was to transport as many Russian nuclear warheads as possible from deployed or centralized nuclear weapons storage sites to secure consolidation sites or dismantlement facilities in Russia. United States funding of these train shipments encouraged the Russian Federation to dismantle warheads and permanently take them out of the Russian arsenal.
