United Nations Office on Drugs and Crime (UNODC) Strengthening Legal Frameworks Phase II

This project will help strengthen the global fight against CBRN terrorism by raising awareness and promoting ratification and implementation of international legal frameworks related to nuclear security. This will be done by addressing the need for:

  1. Universalization of the International Convention for the Suppression of Acts of Nuclear Terrorism (ICSANT), the Convention on the Physical Protection of Nuclear Material (CPPNM), and its Amendment (CPPNM/A);
  2. Adequate incorporation of their criminalization requirements into national legislation; and
  3. Capacity building of criminal justice officials and other relevant stakeholders on their implementation.
