This project contributed to the development of national capacities of States Parties to reduce the risks of a terrorist attack with chemicals and to improve their response to requests for assistance in case of use or threat of use of chemicals. Project activities included: a table-top exercise on preventing possible terrorist access to materials, equipment, and knowledge that could be used in the development and production of chemical weapons; and a regional workshop on rights and obligations of States Parties under Article X of the Chemical Weapons Convention (CWC), the submission of declarations of protective programmes, an analysis of Article X weaknesses, and an overview of assistance activities in the region.
